Mr. Big Foot, or “Big” as his friends call him, found his senior level position working with Friends of Fury Things That Live in the Woods (FFTTLW) through Opportunity Knocks.
“It’s been a long, hard journey to find the right organization for me,” said Big. “But Opportunity Knocks opened the right door for me.”
Big’s job search journey started after the hoax incident involving a deceased big foot found in a remote north Georgia forest.
Big stated that after the hoax was uncovered the public and even some fellow co-workers associated him with the sham.
“After being referred as Sasquatch, Skunk Ape, Devil Monkey, I decided to resign under good terms and relocate my family to a more urban setting,” said Big.
“For my job search, I began using Monster.com since its well known with my friends. But I had no luck.” said Big. “Finally, a nonprofit friend referred me to Opportunity Knocks and I was able to use their fantastic resources to find the right job and organization for me.”
While using Opportunity Knocks, Big took advantage of OK Career Services.
“An OK Career Coach reviewed my resume and cover letter along with my career goals then provided me with expert advice for updating my materials. The phone based coaching was great for me because it not only saved me gas money but also kept me from making an appearance since I’m a little shy in public places.”
After making the changes recommended by his OK Career Coach, Big applied for the open VP of Development position with FFTTLW and was called in for an interview.
“The interview was great and I was hired the same day!”, said Big. “My new organization is a wonderful, the staff is friendly and I feel very much at home with them. Thank you Opportunity Knocks!”
